Everything You Need to Know About Spray Tan and Tattoos
Share
“Does spray tan cover tattoos? Should I flee from the sun or sunless products because of my love of ink?”
- These are questions you’re customers might have asked themselves if they have tattoos.
We are here to tell you that they nothing to worry about. Tattoos and sunless tanning mix!
Now that's out of the way, let us dive a little deeper, shall we?
When it comes to spray tanning and tattoos, you don’t have to worry about your clients’ tattoos losing color, fading or suffering any kind of damage from sunless products. Just be sure to ask if the tattoo has fully healed. When it has, spray tanning solutions can’t harm the inked skin.
While no damage will be done to the skin, lighter colors on tattoos may get a little bit darker from sunless solutions. However, make sure to tell your inked clientele that this is only temporary and they can always wipe it off immediately if they don’t like it. You can also apply a light coat of barrier cream to the tattooed area, this shields the skin from the spray tan solution and may be the best option.
The only thing you might need to remind your clients about is proper protection from harmful UV rays. Even if the tattoo is healed, if it’s exposed to the sun the skin will suffer damage, whether it’s coated with sunless products or not. Remind them to use sunblock whenever they have to.
We hope this covers everything. If you have additional questions, feel free to give our other blogs a read or get in touch with our team here at Artesian Tan.
