When to Get Spray Tan Before a Wedding?

If you’re getting married or going as a guest, you are surely wondering when to get spray tan before a wedding.
The wedding season brings us happiness, great fun, yummy cake, but also stress about getting a perfect look.
Up to this point, you were probably faced with a number of decisions: which dress to wear, how to do you makeup, what to do with your hair… All of these decisions vastly depend on your tan. You cannot wear a pale dress if your skin hasn’t seen the sun this year and your eyeshadow and blush need to be coordinated with your skin tone.
A beautiful tan is the last puzzle piece for a dashing look
You want to hit just the right tone, not to look too dark nor too pale. You are aiming for the naturally-looking sun-kissed glow. You already know the best option is to get a spray tan, but you are wondering when to get spray tan before a wedding.
Do a trial spray tan 1 month before
You should go for a trial tan at least 1 month before the wedding. That way, your trial makeup will give you a better idea of what you will actually look like on your big day. Additionally, the tan will come off just in time for you to reapply it fresh for the wedding.
If you have never done a spray tan before, consider starting with trial tans a couple of months before the wedding, to make sure you will hit the perfect tone. Artesian Tan offers a variety of spray tanning solutions and we guarantee there is a perfect shade for you to make you look completely natural.
If there isn’t enough time for your trial tan, don’t worry!
If you have stumbled upon this text too late and were unaware trial spray tan is a thing, there is still a trick which can help. Do a trial tan on a smaller patch of your skin, which will be covered, such as your stomach, lower back or legs. That way you can get an idea of what shade will fit you best.
It is extremely important to point out that your beautician knows how to do their job, hence, we urge you to listen to their advice regarding the tone of the spray tan. With your beautician’s experience and Artesian Tan’s high-end equipment, we assure you, you will look dazzling!
Get ready for the spray tan – exfoliate and moisturize
To achieve the uniform color on your whole body and avoid darker patches, you should prepare yourself for the spray tan.
Exfoliating the day before will remove the top, dead, layer of your skin and make the tan stick perfectly and evenly. Moisturize your hands, elbows and knees, as they tend to be drier than the rest of your skin which may result in excess product. Shave a day before you visit the salon. Shaving will also remove a thin layer of your skin and make the tan stick better.
Do not, under any circumstances, do anything with your skin a day before your tan – do not go to the spa or do a facial.
Get your spray tan 2 days before the wedding
The ideal time for the spray tan is 2 days before the big day. The tan will nicely settle and the first layer will wash off, leaving you with the healthy glow.
What to do after getting a tan?
Do not shower for at least 4 hours, ideally 8, and do not use soap.
Do have a nice time at the wedding and enjoy the compliments you will be getting!
